I'm currently working on USB syncing for app store apps as my hackathon project. It currently supports most protocols you can throw on top of TCP and allows talking between a mac and any iDevice (no jailbreak required). If you're interested in integrating this into your hackathon project, I'd love to help you. I'm sitting in the first row of tables wearing a "Reloading Data" shirt.
